Take time to work---
It is the price of success.

Take time to think---
It is the source of power.

Take time to play---
It is the secret of perpetual youth.

Take time to read---
It is the foundation of wisdom.

Take time to be friendly---
It is the road to happiness.

Take time to dream---
It is hitching your wagon to a star.

Take time to love and be loved---
It is the privilege of the gods.

The Road Less Traveled

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

- Robert Frost

Tucked away in our subconscious minds is an idyllic vision. We see ourselves on a long, long trip that almost spans the continent. We're traveling by passenger train, and out the windows we drink in the passing scene of cars on nearby highways, of children waving at a crossing, of cattle grazing on a distant hillside, of smoke pouring from a power plant, of row upon row of corn and wheat, of flatlands and valleys, of mountains and rolling hills, of biting winter and blazing summer and cavorting spring and docile fall.

But uppermost in our minds is the final destination. On a certain day at a certain hour we will pull into the station. There will be bands playing, and flags waving. And once we get there so many wonderful dreams will come true. So many wishes will be fulfilled and so many pieces of our lives finally will be neatly fitted together like a completed jigsaw puzzle. How restlessly we pace the aisles, damning the minutes for loitering ... waiting, waiting, waiting, for the station.

However, sooner or later we must realize there is no one station, no one place to arrive at once and for all. The true joy of life is the trip. The station is only a dream. It constantly outdistances us.

"When we reach the station, that will be it !" we cry. Translated it means, "When I'm 18, that will be it ! When I buy a new 450 SL Mercedes Benz, that will be it ! When I put the last kid through college, that will be it ! When I have paid off the mortgage, that will be it ! When I win a promotion, that will be it ! When I reach the age of retirement, that will be it ! I shall live happily ever after !"

Unfortunately, once we get it, then it disappears. The station somehow hides itself at the end of an endless track.

"Relish the moment" is a good motto, especially when coupled with Psalm 118:24: "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." It isn't the burdens of today that drive men mad. Rather, it is regret over yesterday or fear of tomorrow. Regret and fear are twin thieves who would rob us of today.

So, stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot oftener, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more and cry less. Life must be lived as we go along. The station will come soon enough.

-Raymond B. Fosdick

"The only life worth living is the adventurous life.
Of such a life the dominant characteristic is that it is unafraid. If is unafraid of what other people think . . .
It does not adapt either its pace or its objectives to the pace and objectives of its neighbors.
It thinks its own thoughts,
it reads its own books,
it developed its own hobbies,
and it is governed by its own conscience.

The herd may graze where it pleases or stampede where it pleases,
but he who lives the adventurous life will remain unafraid when he finds himself alone."

Dear Friends,

I was reading AIESEC Learning Tool about "shaping personal vision", and cannot help sharing with you a little poet "on this day" without knowing the author. I dare not translate to ruin the beauty of the words.

Be patient, read it over. Wish you have a nice day. Meanwhile, I want to tell all of you, that I love you.

On This Day

Mend a quarrel. search out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion, and replace it with trust. Write a love letter. Share some treasure. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth.
Manifest your loyalty in a word or deed.

Keep a promise. Find the time. Forego a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Listen. Apologise if you were wrong. Try to understand. Flout envy. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Appreciate. be kind, be gentle. Laugh a little more.

Deserve confidence. Take up arms against malice. Decry complacency. Express your graitude. Worship your God. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love. Speak it again. Speak it still again. Speak it still once again.

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference."

And later on,
when so many roads open up before you,
you don't know which to take,
don't pick one at random;
sit down and wait.
Breathe deeply,
trustingly,
the way you breathed on the day when you came into the world,
don't let anything distract you,
wait and wait some more.
Stay still, be quiet,
and listen to your heart.
Then, when it speaks,
get up and go where it takes you.

M. Minsky:
